The Monterey Bay Dog Training Club is staffed with highly qualified professional trainers and we actively support a continuing education program to extend our expertise.

Please bring a copy of shot records (Rabies Certificate & DHPP) to register for class.
Obedience classes are presented in 8 week sessions and offered at up to three locations: Watsonville, Soquel and Capitola. Conformation is available at our main hub in Watsonville and formatted as 7 week sessions starting the 2nd week of each obedience session.
PuppyAn introduction to training for puppies 4 to 6 months of age. Puppies are taught basic exercises with an emphasis on puppy socialization and education of owners.
Beginning 1An introduction to basic obedience including heeling, sit, down, stay, and come. Owners learn techniques to train and control their dogs.
Beginning 2A continuation of Beginning 1. Introduces more advanced heeling, recalls, and hand signals. Dogs will learn all sub-novice exercises.
IntermediateFine tuning of the sub-novice exercises. Introduction to novice exercises and foundation work for advanced exercises. May be repeated until dogs are ready for formal Novice work.
NovicePrepares dogs and handlers for competition in the AKC Novice Obedience class to work toward the Companion Dog title.
OpenPrepares dogs and handlers for competition in the AKC Open Obedience class to work toward the Companion Dog Excellent title.
UtilityPrepares dogs and handlers for competition in the AKC Utility Obedience class to work toward the Utility Dog title.
